Shagun’s character in Me Adarayai tele drama is played by Anita Hassanandani who was born as Natassha on 14 April 1980 in Mumbai. Her father is a businessman and mother is a home maker.
She has completed her schooling and college in Bombay. She began her career as a model and has appeared in several print advertisements and TV commercials including Sunsilk, Boroplus, BSNL Mobile, Parle Krackjack, Shilpa Kakwani Winter Collection, Naturelle Coconut Oil, Moov Painkiller and Sprite. Anita was also seen in the celebrity reality show "Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi" hosted by Akshay Kumar. She came into the limelight with her TV serial 'Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli' and 'Kavyanjali'.

This shows that Shagun didn’t understand the true love of Raman and lives under a fake love of Ashok khanna. This creates a sympathy towards Shagun at times. She loves her son Aadhi and she would sacrifice anything for the sake of Aadhi. Although she loves Aadhi she didn’t have a single time for her son or show him the right path but had time to go for parties and to make herself done.
After Raman marrying Ishitha Shagun sees them living happily and sees Ruhi is much attached to Ishitha. This creates jealousy within her and she tries to acquaint with Raman again. With this she tries to hurt Ishitha as well as Ashok for not marrying her officially. But her plan fails as Raman knows the real Shagun.
