Anita Hassanandani is playing the role of Shagun in the daily soap Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. This was her first show post marriage. Shagun is the mother of Ruhi and Aditya and ex-wife of Raman (Karan Patel). Coming from a small town, Shagun always aspired to be a model some day, but circumstances compelled her to marry and bear a kid. Although she has no affection for her husband or child, she maintains a close connection to reap monetary benefits whenever possible. Now she is living together with Ashok Khanna.

Shagun Arora is a negative role in “Me Adarayai” Teledrama she is a woman who wants to live a luxurious life. She gives importance to only material things like money and beauty of her ownself. She is the ex-wife of Raman Kumar Balha the leading role in teledrama. When Raman was just an employee of Ashok khanna, Shagun falls for Ashok as he was a wealthy person. Also Ashok falls for her attractiveness. She leaves Raman and elopes to live with Ashok, where she had had two children of which she takes the son Aadhi with her and leaves two years old daughter Ruhi with Raman.

When the time passed Raman became a leading businessman defeating Ashok Khanna. This aroused Ashok’s anger towards Raman and he started using Shagun as a coin to hurt Raman whenever he gets an opportunity. This shows that Shagun didn’t understand the true love of Raman and lives under a fake love of Ashok khanna. This creates a sympathy towards Shagun at times. She loves her son Aadhi and she would sacrifice anything for the sake of Aadhi. Although she loves Aadhi she didn’t have a single time for her son or show him the right path but had time to go for parties and to make herself done.

After Raman marrying Ishitha Shagun sees them living happily and sees Ruhi is much attached to Ishitha. This creates jealousy within her and she tries to acquaint with Raman again. With this she tries to hurt Ishitha as well as Ashok for not marrying her officially. But her plan fails as Raman knows the real Shagun.
Shagun Arora can be recognised as a role of which has no importance of being a woman. She is not a good daughter for mother, not a good wife for her husband and not a good mother for her children. Finally, her role teaches us a moral. A woman is always supposed to live with a single person, whatever he is or whoever he is. Money and beauty is not what makes you a woman but a pure motherhood.
